Nautisme Québec is home to the largest community of boating enthusiasts in Quebec. The organization represents the industry and boaters, and its mission is to promote the development of boating.
Every year, it organizes major events, including the Montreal International Boat Show, and the Bateau à flot shows in Montreal and Quebec City.
For 4 years, in partnership with CRI Agence, 2 Square has develop the marketing strategy for the shows, to attract visitors and, more generally, contribute to the development of the Nautisme Québec brand.
Our services include strategic planning, advertising creation, media buying and the implementation of performance indicators.
CAMPAIGN 2020-2024: I’m on board!
Our major campaign theme obviously suggests the notion of embarkation, but above all it evokes the promise of good times. When we are deeply invested in something, we are willing to say yes to anything related to it. And if I’m offered the chance to spend the day at a show dedicated to my passion, I say: I’m on board!
With a strong visual identity, we designed and produced advertising messages, animated GIFs and stills to make our colors recognizable in the public space. We also produced a host of variations videos to continue the offensive on social media, targeting each of our customer segments.
HIGH-IMPACT ADVERTISING
Our campaigns drove strong traffic to the Nautisme Québec website throughout the campaign period — and drew great crowds to our events.
TARGETED DISTRIBUTION
Our media-buying teams achieved awareness objectives thanks to a diversified and targeted media placement strategy, including traditional and digital media.
ENERGIZING THE EXPERIENCE
Our strategy also included thinking about the “show experience”. As a test formula, we set up a draw for a unique paddle board. The artist’s “live painting” presence at the event created a real buzz and helped build a valuable VIP bank of qualified customers.

As COVID-19 restrictions tightened in summer 2020 and our plans were falling through one after another, we came up with the perfect slogan for water sports lovers:

Our initial idea was to illustrate funny life moments with and without a boat, only to come to the conclusion that… it’s way more fun WITH a boat!
We capitalized on the feeling of frustration that can overwhelm us when we have both feet in the snow and see our friends’ sunny vacation photos scrolling on Facebook.
We designed an intriguing box, inviting people to step inside and sit behind the wheel of a magnificent boat. By integrating a seascape in the background, they could in turn taunt their friends on the networks! A simple concept that has gone a long way!
To create this video invite to attend the Boat and Nautical Sports Salon, we hid our cameras around downtown Montreal and offered random pedestrians the opportunity to take a boat ride on the St. Lawrence River during a snowstorm. These images have not gone unnoticed!
